We are pleased to announce that Aisha Francis has been appointed Board Co-Chair of Eva’s Initiatives for Homeless Youth, effective March 31, 2021.
Aisha is an accomplished and passionate leader, whose formidable presence and wealth of experience will be a tremendous asset to our organization. Aisha will co-chair the Board alongside fellow Co-Chair, Graeme Young.
Underscoring everything that Aisha Francis does is her love for people and her passion to live a purpose-infused life.
Aisha is a seasoned professional with twenty-five years of diverse leadership and business experience across the private, corporate and non-profit sectors. Called upon as a thought-leader, creative visionary and prolific speaker, Aisha is also an author who has the gift of connecting narratives, experiences and ideas seamlessly with structure and strategy to energize, motivate and inspire purpose-driven action and achievement.
In 2014, Aisha founded Project: Restore FIBI (Families Impacted By Incarceration) with the aim to swing the pendulum of critical supports toward families experiencing the collateral effects and trauma of incarceration. Her work has increased awareness of and aid to address the difficulties these families endure. Aisha also continues advocacy to highlight opportunities to refine resource allocation, cultivate community engagement and collaboration, introduce best practices informed by lived experiences and grassroots leadership to enrich service delivery and update and advance Canadian research, scholarship and public policy.
Aisha also owns a consulting agency that specializes in helping emerging entrepreneurs gain clarity of their purpose towards the end goal of having not only a profitable business, but a fulfilling profession. Recognizing the value of engaging with her community, Aisha sits as a director on the boards of the Ajax Public Library, CEE Centre for Young Black Professionals, and previously, Eva’s Initiatives for Homeless Youth before being appointed Co-Chair.
In addition, Aisha chairs Eva’s Board Equity Committee which centres equity in the governance, operations, and strategic priorities at Eva’s while also informing an equity framework and responding to evolving equity needs of the organization and its stakeholders.
We are absolutely thrilled to have Aisha’s experience, zeal and vision guide us on our organization’s transformative journey.
Aisha Francis, Co-Chair of Eva’s Board of Directors
