Eva’s Satellite, located at 25 Canterbury Place, is a City-owned facility leased to Eva’s as an emergency shelter supporting youth experiencing homelessness. This location temporarily closed in fall 2021, allowing the City to complete significant renovations and essential health and safety upgrades.
After more than ten years of supporting the community, Eva’s Satellite will reopen to residents in early 2025. Once renovations are complete, the facility will offer 33 beds for youth ages 16-24.
The City has hired a Community Engagement Facilitator, Jane Farrow, Department of Words & Deeds, to lead and manage community engagement for 25 Canterbury Place. This includes meeting with key stakeholders and interested residents, and responding to questions or comments received from the community via email.
If you wish to learn more about 25 Canterbury Place and/or community engagement, please visit the City of Toronto’s website or email [email protected].
At Eva’s Satellite, youth work closely with Eva’s professional support team to build the skills needed to transition to and maintain permanent housing. These services include case management, harm reduction supports, and tailored life skills programming.
In partnership with Inner City Health Associates (ICHA), Eva’s also provides onsite primary, preventative physical and mental health care for residents.
The programs and supports offered at Eva’s Satellite are critically important and help youth experiencing homelessness move to a life of stability.
